CALEDON FIRST

WHAT HUNAR STANDS FOR

ROAD & COMMUNITY SAFETY

Ensuring our roads and neighborhoods are safe for everyone.

Road safety concerns, including speeding, heavy truck traffic, and congestion, need to be addressed proactively.  For community safety, I will advocate for stronger provincial and federal collaboration to combat crime, improve road safety, and secure required resources. A future-focused Ward 2 deserves a full-time police station, expanded policing infrastructure, visible policing and better coordination with the OPP. I will advocate to reintroduce programs like Citizens on Patrol and Road Watch to make our town safer.

GROWING LOCAL ECONOMY

Building Jobs Closer to Home.

Caledon has long been viewed as a place where people live but leave to work. By attracting smart investment, supporting job creation, and planning housing, infrastructure, schools, and healthcare together, Caledon can move from a ‘bedroom community’ to a complete and thriving local economy.

INFRASTRUCTURE THAT WORKS

Better planning. Long-term value for taxpayers. Growth must be thoughtful and focused on people. I will support affordable housing options for seniors, encourage purpose-built rentals, and advocate for smart, coordinated infrastructure planning. That means ensuring roads, water systems, schools, and community facilities are built ahead of demand, not after pressure builds.

FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY

Smart spending. Accountability to taxpayers. To ease financial pressure on residents, every tax dollar must be spent with care and purpose. Fiscal responsibility means ensuring new revenue steams are identified and that growth pays for growth.

HEALTHCARE & COMMUNITY SERVICES

Care closer to home when you need it. As Caledon grows, access to healthcare and essential community services must grow with it. Families should not be forced to travel outside the community for basic or timely care. I would advocate for strengthening local healthcare capacity, supporting recruitment of healthcare professionals, and planning for future facilities are essential to building a healthy, resilient Caledon.

PROTECTING CALEDON'S RURAL IDENTITY

As Caledon pushes toward the 300,000-population milestone, protecting its rural identity must remain a top priority. Smart planning can create new housing and economic opportunities while still preserving what makes Caledon special. Growth should strengthen the community, protect farmland, and not erase Caledon’s rural heritage and natural beauty. Future generations deserve to inherit the same countryside charm and strong community spirit that residents treasure today.
